Directions if approaching from the South;

1. Exit the M42 at Junction 9, initially following the A446 past the Belfry Golf Club then onto the A38 towards Lichfield and Derby
2. At Derby, turn onto the A52 to Ashbourne
3. On exiting this town, follow the B5035 towards Wirksworth
4. Pass through the village of Kniveton and about 3 miles later, having just passed the Knockerdown Pub on the right hand side, turn left to Brassington village
5. In the village take the second left turning, up a steep hill towards the Church
6. As the road bends to the left, with the Miners Arms Pub on your left, turn right and immediately left, opposite a red letter box
7. Take the left hand fork in the road, up Red Lion Hill, and Hillocks Barn is situated on the right hand side of this small lane.

Directions if approaching from the North;

1. Leave the M1 at Junction 28 and follow the A38 towards Derby
2. On approaching Ripley, take the A610 towards Ambergate
3. Turn right on to the A6 at Ambergate, following the signs to Matlock
4. About 8 miles later, at the Cromford village traffic lights, turn left onto the B5036 towards Wirksworth
5. Approaching the top of this steep hill, turn right onto the B5035 to Ashbourne, following the signs to Carsington Water
6. At the first cross roads, drive straight over, passing the Rising Sun Pub on the right hand side and continue up hill
7. About a mile later, take the right hand turning, signposted Brassington
8. Follow this road for about two and a half miles and at the T-junction turn left
9. Drop down towards the village and take the first right turn onto Kingshill
10. In approximately 150m bear right continuing along Hillside Lane
11. As the road forks again in about 20m, the Hillocks Barn gravel off-road parking is between these two lanes

Traveling by rail;

The nearest mainline railway station is Derby but a smaller number of trains continue to Cromford and Matlock.
